Pamela Washington is a native of Southern California, who moved to Las Vegas, in 1993, after learning about the incredible growth in the local economy. With a Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Mary’s College (Business and Political Science, class of 1981) her early work experience including banking operations, sales and marketing. Ms Washington also spent 5 years working in Beverly Hills as an Account Executive for Dean Witter Reynolds (now known as Morgan Stanley.) She also owned a catering and event planning business in Los Angeles, CA. Pamela started A-1 Janitorial Services in 1993 with no employees, managing every aspect of the business.

Ms Washington was featured in a book (authored by Joanne Gordon) which was published in April 2005 by Ballantine Press (a division of Random House books). The title of the book is “Be Happy At Work”. She has also been honored by being named “Enterprising Woman” by the magazine of the same name in 2006, was named “Supplier of the Year” by the National Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in 2001, and has been quoted in articles in Black Enterprise Magazine, and featured in articles in The Las Vegas Review Journal and In Business Las Vegas.

A-1 Janitorial Services has also won nominations and awards from the Small Business Administration (SBA), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), The National Association of Purchasing Managers and the Society of Human Resource Managers and was featured in the “Microsoft Success Series” on public radio.

She is also the founder of Build My Cleaning Business a coaching and consulting company devoted to helping owners of cleaning companies work smarter and a Principal at Genesis Books and Gifts, a 12 step recovery book and gift store located in Las Vegas NV and online.

Ms Washington enjoys reading, travel, fishing, skiing, scuba diving, gardening, and cooking. She attends St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church and is involved in community outreach programs such as Habitat for Humanity, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and has served on the boards of Safe Nest, and the American Heart Association.
